CO CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The topic of the Guest lecture was on 5G Techniques and challenges.  The lecture started with explaining the fundamentals of communication and about various network parameters such as latency, throughput and back haul communication. The cellular communication evolution from 1 G to 5 G and the key challenges faced in 5G communications was elaborated. The RAN architecture used in 5G and the significance of the cloud computing was explained well. The allocation of the spectrum through auctions and its benefits were elaborated. Also the latest technology using satellite to cover all the geography location thereby enables everyone to be connected to the network was explained. The channel capacity theorem by Shannon and its significance was also highlighted.
