SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
Workshop on Applied Machine Learning
On April 29th, 2025, the Department of Information Science and Engineering hosted an enriching workshop on “Applied Machine Learning” for 6th Semester students. The session was led by Shriram Sankaran, an experienced IT professional from Honeywell Technology Solutions. The primary objective was to provide participants with both hands-on experience and a solid theoretical foundation in Machine Learning, effectively bridging the gap between academic concepts and their real-world applications.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
- Exploring Different Types of Distributions: Students learned about various statistical distributions and their significance in data analysis.
- Analyzing Real-Time Data Using Python: Participants engaged in practical exercises to analyze real-time datasets, enhancing their programming skills and understanding of data manipulation.
- Hypothesis Testing: The workshop delved into hypothesis testing, teaching students how to validate assumptions and draw meaningful conclusions from data.
Designed to offer practical insights, the workshop aimed to help students identify the potential for real-time applications of Machine Learning in various production-related areas. A total of 60 students actively participated, gaining valuable knowledge and skills that are crucial for their future careers in technology.
