Panel Discussion - From Disruption to Opportunity: Sustainable Technology in Action

The Department of Information Science and Engineering hosted a panel discussion titled “From Disruption to Opportunity: Sustainable Technology in Action” as part of the Silver Jubilee Year Celebrations under the New Age Technologies theme. The event was held on 24 February 2026 at Tejas Seminar Hall, bringing together industry leaders to explore sustainability-driven innovation.

Panellists from Oracle, Sapiens, Just Robotics, and Openyourmind shared insights on how disruptive technologies can evolve into sustainable opportunities. The discussion highlighted the importance of responsible AI adoption, green technology practices, and sustainable product design.

Speakers emphasised that sustainability must be embedded into organisational strategies rather than treated as an add-on. The moderator, an NHCE alumnus, guided the conversation towards practical applications of sustainable digital transformation.

Students engaged actively through an interactive Q&A session that deepened their understanding of industry expectations. The dialogue underscored the need for energy-efficient implementation of AI and cloud technologies.

The session also stressed the value of industry–academia collaboration in shaping sustainable technological progress. Overall, the event inspired students to pair technical skills with sustainability awareness and contributed meaningfully to the institution’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.
