The Department hosted a workshop on “Data Preprocessing – The Foundation of Machine Learning & Data Science” to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the crucial initial phase in any data-driven project. The session was led by Mr. Akash V, a seasoned Data Scientist from Prinston Smart Engineers, Bangalore, who shared valuable insights on how preprocessing lays the groundwork for accurate and efficient machine learning models.

The workshop highlighted how transforming raw and unstructured data into clean, consistent, and meaningful datasets significantly enhances the performance of predictive models. Participants learned about key preprocessing tasks such as data cleaning, transformation, feature engineering, and reduction, which ensure the reliability and quality of analytical outcomes.
