Workshop on "Design Thinking: Innovate, Create, and Transform Ideas into Reality
On April 2nd 2025, the Department of Information Science & Engineering hosted a workshop titled “Design Thinking: Innovate, Create, and Transform Ideas into Reality,” led by Ms. Sreeja, founder of openyourmind.in, Bangalore. The session introduced students to design thinking’s five key stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Activities included interviews fostering empathy, case studies analyzing traffic problems in Bangalore, and brainstorming solutions for real-world challenges.
Participants created low-fidelity prototypes and tested them through peer feedback, refining their ideas iteratively. A special activity boosted creative confidence, encouraging students to think outside the box and overcome self-doubt. The workshop enhanced students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. It provided a hands-on foundation for academic projects and innovation. By fostering collaboration and creativity, the event equipped students with practical skills for future endeavors.
