Workshop on "Design Thinking: Innovate, Create, and Transform Ideas into Reality
On April 2nd 2025, the Department of Information Science & Engineering hosted a workshop titled “Design Thinking: Innovate, Create, and Transform Ideas into Reality,” led by Ms. Sreeja, founder of openyourmind.in, Bangalore. The session introduced students to design thinking’s five key stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Activities included interviews fostering empathy, case studies analyzing traffic problems in Bangalore, and brainstorming solutions for real-world challenges.
Participants created low-fidelity prototypes and tested them through peer feedback, refining their ideas iteratively. A special activity boosted creative confidence, encouraging students to think outside the box and overcome self-doubt. The workshop enhanced students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. It provided a hands-on foundation for academic projects and innovation. By fostering collaboration and creativity, the event equipped students with practical skills for future endeavors. Students gained the ability to transform innovative ideas into practical prototypes, boosting their overall confidence
