Department of Information Science and Engineering hosted a workshop titled “Unlocking Android: A Hands-on Workshop for Future App Developers,” on November 9, 2024 led by Mr. Devraj Shukla, Senior Android Developer at Quinbay Technologies. The session began with a review of Java basics, covering variables, data types, and object-oriented principles to strengthen students’ programming foundation. Mr. Shukla then introduced Android Studio, guiding students through setup and essential Android concepts like Activities and the Activity lifecycle. UI design using XML was also covered, with a focus on layouts and interactive components. In the final segment, students developed a simple Android application, practicing both coding and UI integration. The workshop provided students with essential skills and a strong base for further exploration in mobile app development.
